Introducing EditVideoWithAI

September 15, 2026

Something changed in video editing this year: the best edits increasingly come out of a terminal. People point Claude Code or Codex at DaVinci Resolve or plain ffmpeg, describe the edit, and iterate in plain language. The results are real, but the knowledge evaporates the moment the session ends.

EditVideoWithAI keeps that knowledge alive.

The loop

  1. You vibe-edit a video with your agent, any tools you like.
  2. You run npx editfork share. The CLI reads your agent's session log locally and distills it into a skill: the prompts that mattered, the working tool sequence, the corrections, a verification step.
  3. You add the link to your published video (YouTube or X, we never host video).
  4. The skill gets a page, and anyone can run it on their own footage with one command or fetch it straight from their agent over MCP.

What we deliberately left out

  • No uploads. Your footage and your full session logs stay on your machine. Only the distilled skill you approve is published.
  • No forms. The CLI is the only way in. If publishing takes more than a minute, it does not get done.
  • No votes. Skills are ranked by runs, because usage is the only signal that does not lie.
  • No sponsored MCP results. The endpoint your agent queries returns the top-ranked skill, full stop.

Start here

If you are new to agent-driven editing, the setup guide takes about 15 minutes, and the first vibe edit about ten more. If you already edit this way, you are sitting on skills someone else needs: npx editfork share.
