Hormozi style animated captions

Burn word-by-word animated captions into a vertical video using only ffmpeg.

Requirements

• ffmpeg with libass
• whisper with word-level timestamps
• A bold font installed (Montserrat ExtraBold or similar)

Steps

1. Transcribe with whisper: whisper input.mp4 --word_timestamps True --output_format json.
2. Group words into lines of max 3 words. One line on screen at a time, centered at 70% height.
3. Generate an .ass subtitle file: active word scales 100% to 112% over 80ms, inactive words at 85% opacity.
4. Color every noun and number in yellow (#FFD400), everything else white, 4px black outline.
5. Burn in: ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -vf "ass=captions.ass" -c:a copy output.mp4.

Verify

• Spot-check 3 random timestamps: caption must match spoken word within 100ms.
